Some of the changes to how you build and upgrade your buildings are just awful and although simple in design quite confusing to use. Replacing it with this simplified UI which does not provide all the information you need "which it used to", but also takes up literally half your screen during battles. It is clear this game was designed with consoles in mind, as they have stripped out the previous UI we have come to love in the Total War series. I mean I don't think they could of made a worse UI if they tried. User Interface - HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, User Interface. No where near what you would expect from a game you just paid $60 for. Also there are several weird graphic errors, such as images not rendering right away. Coupled with the poor graphics the game also has HUGE performance issues, where the strategic map slows down considerably at random times. What is extremely frustrating is the game looks NO WHERE near as good as the gameplay videos released for Rome 2 over the past year "Here is a link to a thread exposing the issue ". Graphics - The graphics are just terrible considering this is a next-gen title. Rome 2 Total War is so bad after forcing myself to play for 4 hours yesterday, I simply do not have any desire to turn on the game again. To understand the difference both Empire & Napolean Total War were quite disappointing for me, but were still good enough games that I enjoyed playing them. It is has never happened where I have got a new Total War game, and actually stopped playing because I do not enjoy the game. I am not going to write a long review, I will jump right to the point and say this game is a HUGE dissapointment to the point where I don't even enjoy playing it PERIOD.
So in other words I am a huge fan of the Total War series, and my opinion should be considered to represent a Total War Fan versus a Casual gamer trying out the series for the first time. I play Shogun 2 regularly up to this day more than I play any other game in my library. I have been a HUGE Total War fan since Rome 1, playing and enjoying every release in the series including Empire: Total War & Napolean Total War which clearly were not the strongest titles. There are enough well constructed posts there that summarize the reason why you will not enjoy this game. I have listed my feedback below, and I strongly recommend nobody considers purchasing this game without at least visit the games official forums : Total War: ROME II. This game is a COMPLETE & UTTER disappointment making even Empire: Total War look good. However I wanted to ensure I warn as much as my fellow NBR members about the utter piece of fraud taking place with Rome II: Total War.
The unit models are not too well-made, which is why this mod isn’t ranked higher on this list.Folks, I would not normally post this as an additional thread when there is already a dedicated threat for Total War. You’ll have the chance to play and conquer new regions using new units that the mod adds. The mod adds a fair few new regions to the world map to make everything feel a tad newer and reinvigorated. But don’t let that stop you from having some fun! 15. They can mess with your saves or simply not work in your current ones since the game is quite a few years old.
So to help other players I made this list so you can check out some of these fantastic mods that I came across.īe sure to back up your saves, though, and I would recommend you starting new games whenever you install multiple larger mods at the same time. I came across some fantastic mods and I rediscovered some mods that I used years ago, such as DarthMod easily one of the best gameplay enhancers that I’ve come across. I decided to give it another go a few days ago and made a point to install a few mods to see which ones were better, as I was looking to spice things up a bit. Empire might not be one of the most recent Total War titles, but it’s still a fan-favorite among many players (including myself).Įmpire was an iconic title that brought us countless days of joy as well as rage thanks to its toxic online community(which game isn’t) and extremely fun gameplay.
